STRIKER Kian Harding struck a clincial second-half winner to give the U13b boys a 3-2 success at Phoenix on Saturday. 

 

 

Harding's third goal of the season secured the three points for Peamount after the home side threatened to mount a superb second-half comeback.Phoenix had no choice but to go for it after the break following an impressive opening 45 minutes from the home side that saw Sean O'Brien give them a two-goal lead.The winger opened the scoring on five minutes when he latched onto a superb through ball from Luke Duddy and made no mistake with his finish beyond the advanced keeper.

Midway through the half he capped a dominant display from his side when he lobbed home from the edge of the box as Phoenix desperately tried to clear a corner.Striker Jack Maguire was unlucky to see his superb run and finish ruled out for offside before Josh Walker went inches from a third on the stroke of half-time.Walker again went close after the break before goalkeeper Gavin Walsh was forced to make a superb save to deny Phoenix. The home side did pull one back, however, within minutes but Harding regained Peamount's two-goal advantage with a superb first-time finish into the corner after Maguire's superb run from deep.

The visitors were forced to hang on in the closing minutes as Phoenix again reduced the deficit.
