We did it! We did it! We did it! 10 games played 7 wins 3 draws no defeats but most
importantly we did it playing the right way concentrating on performances. In playing
our passing game some times counter attacking style, as coach I am very proud of the
players and the improvement shown since the start of the season. This to me is the
most pleasing aspect of the season. The great performances turned into results and this
is a by-product of playing in the correct fashion and indeed an added bonus to go 10
games undefeated, as for me as coach, performances are more important than results.

In today’s game on a typical sharp morning in Greenogue - we started off all guns
blazing in the first half and were 3-0 up at half time, goals from Jack Quinn, Jack
Gleeson, his first of many for Peamount for sure, and 2 from Justin the fourth a strike
of beauty from distance rocketed in to the net it was all rosy at half time.

In goal today we had Kyle who put in a outstanding performance stepping in for our
regular keeper and in defence we had the ever consistent Big Josh, tough tackling
Aron and most versatile Colm Og who all put in sterling shifts at the back. In
midfield Keyan, JackQ, JackG and Jamie worked their socks off while upfront Justin
was his now usual peerless self.

All was going to plan with 10 minutes to go then Templogue scored and then got an
own goal, still 2 in front no panic, then with less than 5 minutes to go they got another
goal to make it 4-3. I cannot explain it but these things happen in football and are
great learning experiences. We then made a counter attack where Jamie smashed a
shot off the cross bar, I still do not know how it stayed out. It was turning out to be
a Hollywood blockbuster finish we all could have done without. Then there were 3
minutes left on the clock and we managed to play out the rest of the match in their
half winning a couple of throw ins and corners and then the final whistle, winners 4
goals to 3, queue mass celebrations for the new invincibles!

I want to mention the two lads who were not there today, Josh and Luke, if it was not
for them playing so well in all the other 9 matches we would not have been in the
position we were today and they were missed but not forgotten in the celebrations.

I want to thank everybody who sent texts, emails and rang before and after the match
wishing us all the best of luck and in due course congratulations. I was overwhelmed
with all the messages and passed them all on to the team. I want to also thank
everybody who turned up to support us on the day, the noise from the sideline was
inspiring.

To the parents, my heart felt thanks for you unrelenting support all season in getting
the kids to training and to every match. I hope you enjoy this day because these days
do not come around very often and the most must be made of them in enjoying the

fruits of all our labours.

Finally I want to thank all the players for their concentration, application and
dedication in both training and in all the matches. This group are a pleasure to coach
and a credit to their parents and also outstanding ambassadors for Peamount United.
They can be and should be very proud of their achievements this season and in going
forward strive to continue to want to improve in all aspects of their play. I as coach
could not have asked and got more from the players this season and I am so proud of
each and every one of them and look forward to the future as it is so bright.

Colm.
