Peamount U18 in a Leinster Football association trial game

Our under 18s represented the club in a Leinster Football association trial game against the best of all the other leagues on Wednesday the 5th under floodlights in FAI Headquarters in Abbotstown. A great experience for the squad who were a credit to the club both on and off the field. A positive outcome with three players – Dylan, Tas & Cezar being requested to attend the final selection training sessions this weekend in the AUL complex. Not in picture Adam & Jordan who were unavailable through injury. Best of luck to the lads in the final selection process.u18

Great start to Women’s National League

Peamount opened their campaign on Saturday the 13/8/16 when they stunned champions Wexford Youths by securing a 1-0 win courtesy of a first-half strike from debutant Heather Payne.

The new-look Peas team started brightly and took the lead on 20 minutes when Galway girl Payne tucked in a cross from Sarah McKevitt. That goal proved to be the difference in spite of efforts from Wexford’s Emma Hansberry, Maria Delahunty, and Linda Douglas.

Good luck to Peamount Girls in Ireland Under 16 Squad

Sharon Boyle’s side are preparing for the UEFA Development Tournament in Hungary next month so these fixtures in Dragon Park, Newport, will prove very useful to their progress. The UEFA Development tournament will see the Irish meet hosts Hungary, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Slovalkia.“The focus is on the May development tournament, so we’re preparing for this and then looking to help to prepare for the next step to U17s next season,” said Boyle.“We welcome back Tegan Ruddy, Heather Payne and Sadbh Doyle from the U17s where they had a good campaign in the UEFA Qualifiers. “You can see the influence that those three have brought to the group and the levels have improved in the sessions and hopefully it’ll show in the games.“We’ll expect two very tough tests for the girls against Wales. For many of them it’s their first time away trip as a group so naturally there’s a lot of nerves but they’ll benefit from the experience. Two of the girls Aoife Lynagh and Doireann Fahey played with the Irish Schools last week and did very well so we’ll monitor their progress this weekend.PEAMOUNT REPRESENTATIVES IN REPUBLIC OF IRELAND WOMEN’S U16 SQUAD: Tiegan Ruddy, Doireann Fahey, Keelin McEntee and Niamh Coombes. FIXTURESWomen’s U16 International Friendlies Friday, April 8   Wales v Republic of Ireland, Dragon Park, Newport (7.30pm) Sunday, April 10   Wales v Republic of Ireland, Dragon Park, Newport (12.30pm).

U14 Major v Leixlip Saturday 31st October 2015 — Peamount 8 – Leixlip 3

Another strong performance and good win today for Peamount U14 Major side against Leixlip Utd. which brings Peamount’s tally of 5 wins from 6 in the U14 Major League. On a perfect day for football at Greenogue, Peamount started very strongly, comfortably passing the ball around with purpose and exposed the Leixlip backline from early on with the pace of their 2 frontmen, who between them had Peamount 5 – 0 up after 25 minutes with Conor Jameson scoring a hatrick and Nathan Miller adding the other 2. Central midfielders Aran Murray & Calum O’Neil gave great support with a strong driving performances whilst the wing play of Ruben Masinga & Adam Mooney on the opposite flank also caused Leixlip numerous problems throughout the match. The Defence was well marshalled by captain Scott O’Brien and Conor Delaney, both of whom were fierce in the tackle. Fullbacks Matthew Long & Isaac Mooney were also impressive in defence and added to the attack with surging runs at every opportunity.Goalkeeper Gavin McConville dealt with anything that came his way while also adding to the attacking play with his accurate distribution.During the 2nd half and after making some positional switches Peamount’s performance dropped off a little bit, and conceded 3 goals, but Peamount showing the great squad character, re-grouped and added 3 more goals from subs Thomas Considine & Adam Harris, with Conor Jameson adding a 4th to his tally.Lee McEvoy & Adam Benrouguibi also impressed when coming in for the 2nd half which just shows the strength in depth with this squad this season, while also missing Conor Leigh who has been injured for the last few weeks.Team :1.
