Best wishes to our four Peamount players traveling to Sapou in Spain on Saturday to represent Ireland in the U15 Docherty Cup.
Memories of a wonderful day in Tullamore on 31st March when the club was represented in two separate age groups of the Girls FAI All Ireland Cups. Emma Donohoe’s U14 squad took on Mervue United from Galway, and Sean Kelly’s U16 squad met Hannover Harps from Carlow. A rare achievement for any club to have a double finalists.
Both games were closely fought affairs; Mervue United were one goal ahead for most of the U14 final before Peamount fought back to level the scores mid way through the second half and then score a fantastic winner to lift and retain the U14 cup a second year.
The U16 game was equally tight; there were goal scoring opportunities for both side being created throughout however the game appeared locked until Peamount found the net twice within two minutes just before the half time break. Hannover Harps played right through to the last moment but were unable to break down the Peamount side.
Victoria Park, Tullamore is the venue tomorrow, 31st March, for Peamounts U14 and our U16s girls when they compete in the FAI All Ireland Finals. Its a tremendous feat for both teams to make the finals. Come on out to lend your support to the girls and get behind them as they push to secure the trophies.
